Description
Wismar is ideally suited to explore the beautiful coastal area of the Baltic Sea. Protected by the island of Poel in the east and Mecklenburg Bay in the west, the Wismar Bay is nestled and surrounded by enchanting scenery. Your journey east takes you past the island of Poel to the well-known Salzhaff, Kühlungsborn and Bad Doberan. A few kilometers to the west you reach Boltenhagen, the beaches of Mecklenburg Bay and you can see the ferries heading for Scandinavia. Not far to the southeast is Schwerin, the state capital with its historic facades, to the northeast the metropolis of Rostock and to the west you can reach Lübeck, Hamburg and Bremen after a short drive.
