Description

The romance of the journey.....A Victorian masterpiece, lovingly restored in every detail, from the Gothic revival façade to the grand stairwell, gold leaf ceilings and other eccentric touches. To stay at the St Pancras London Renaissance Hotel is to experience all the romance of the golden age of rail travel, brought thrillingly into the 21st century. This Grade 1 listed building was originally designed by architect Sir George Gilbert Scott to house the Midland Grand Hotel. Opened on 5th May 1873 by Queen Victoria, the hotel was intended to wow visitors with its sheer splendour. And, in many ways, little has changed. The exterior radiates red brick magnificence. The interior remains a treasure-trove of historic touches and contemporary grandeur. Opening in March 2011, this is a beautiful rare gem of a building, a true ‘one of a kind' destination, just waiting to be explored.
